Begining...
I grew up in Greece, living on an island. One day, while riding my bike through the island, I often heard someone playing the piano. The melodies captivated me, although I didn't know what they were. Eventually, I discovered a music school nearby, where I saw a person playing the piano. I fell in love with it instantly. When I got home, I told my parents that I wanted to learn music, specifically the piano, and that's how it all began.
Process...
When creating a song, my process is quite spontaneous. It often just pops into my head; I don't usually sit down with the intention of writing a song. While I can work that way, I don't necessarily prefer it. For instance, when tasked with making an album, the pressure can be counterproductive.
After I moved to Berlin and completed my piano studies, I didn't want to touch the piano anymore—it had become too much. I went through a very dark period during that time. Moving to Berlin brought significant changes and some pivotal moments. At one point, I was in such a dark place that I got a microKORG synthesizer. I had some knowledge of music production software, so I started experimenting with it. This helped me overcome that difficult phase, as I could express myself through music again.
That's how I began making music in the way I do now. Generally, the music is already forming in my head, and my task is to bring those ideas to life and give them sound.

Berlin...
There wasn't a specific reason for my move; initially, I wanted to go to Austria. However, I also wanted to improve my German since I wasn't very fluent. Mostly, I just wanted to leave and explore new places. That's how I ended up here, and now, 15 or 16 years later, I've stayed. Although I'm not as enthusiastic about it anymore and would like to see something else, the experience has been significant.
Did the city change you?
Moving to a foreign place at 20 years old, completely alone, wasn't easy. It definitely changed me, making me more independent and stronger. It also made me tougher, which I have mixed feelings about because I don't want to lose my softer side.
Everything changes when you move somewhere new. Berlin is a very unique city, and moving here has given me experiences that are different from those I would have had if I'd moved to another city in Germany, or if I'd stayed on the island. Each place offers different experiences and challenges, shaping you in various ways.
Money & Music
Being a full-time musician was never really my goal. So, when people ask if it's difficult to be a musician, I think about how those who pursue this path often face challenges from the start. Many do it to express their struggles. Making money from music is not easy, and I've thought a lot about this.
When I started making music, my goal wasn't to make money. If you focus on money, it becomes difficult. However, if you focus on making music because you love it, then it's amazing because you're not constantly worried about finances. I believe that if I started with the mindset that I needed to make money from music, my work would suffer. I don't want that pressure.
Of course, I need money to support myself, but music is not my main income source right now, and I prefer it that way. Without the pressure to make money from music, I can create more freely. I balance my life by working on the side, for example, by teaching. If I could make a living solely from music, that would be great, but I like not having the pressure.
When I perform, I try to stay relaxed. The pressure to deliver, especially when money is involved, changes the dynamic because you're being paid to create. This is a common problem for many creative people. Creativity on demand is challenging because inspiration doesn't always strike on schedule. If you do music professionally, you need to generate income, which can be stressful.
I possess qualities and connections to different genders, and I find myself in a state of fluidity.
Lesson to share
there's something important I've learned: it's crucial not to rely too heavily on others. While it's nice to have people you can depend on, expecting too much from others can lead to disappointment. Sometimes, relying on yourself is more reliable because you can get things done without waiting on others.
However, this can be both good and bad. If you become too independent, you might lose sight of your goals. It's easy to get influenced by your surroundings and lose track of your own path. For me, it's particularly easy to absorb the energy and influences around me, which can make it difficult to remember why I started something in the first place.
There's so much information and external influence that it's easy to get lost. This is something I've had to think about a lot because once you're lost, it's hard to find your way back. For instance, even something like fashion can influence you significantly if you're not careful about staying true to your original aims.
Sincerity with oneself is key.
Fashion
It really depends on my mood. Sometimes, I have no idea what I want or how to explain it. For instance, you might go to a shop knowing exactly what you want, like a specific item, but I often don't have that clarity. I guess the desire to make everything perfect stems from that uncertainty.
Fashion Industry....
Do I think this should change? Yes, in some ways. I understand what you're talking about, but the industry sets certain standards because that's what they're trying to sell. The real question is why we believe we need to adhere to those standards. They can set any standard they want, but why do we feel the need to conform to it? I do it too; I place these expectations on myself.
We are easily influenced by our surroundings. But why do we do that? Why do we accept that certain images or standards are perfect? How did we come to believe that we're not enough as we are? These are questions worth pondering. It's about understanding why we let these external standards affect us so much and realizing that we don't have to follow them. It's an image, a way of expressing something, but the question is why we accept it and why we feel we're not enough.
Womanhood...
Is it easy to be a woman? No, it's not. This question touches on a complex issue rooted in societal conditioning. For many years, women have been taught that they can't do certain things, which is simply not true. We are all human, and I believe that men and women can achieve the same things, although our physical capabilities might differ due to our bodies. The truth is, we can do whatever we set our minds to.
Historically, women have been confined to certain roles and images, but that’s not the whole story. We can be whatever we want. The difficulty arises partly because many women still haven't fully realized their potential and power to do anything they want.
There are additional challenges women face. For instance, if we compare our situation to other parts of the world, we're relatively fortunate here, but there are still issues. One major issue is the constant fear of being attacked or misunderstood. When walking down the street, many women stay alert to potential dangers, and friendly gestures are often misinterpreted as flirtation. This misunderstanding can lead to discomfort and make women alter their behavior.
Men also face societal expectations, such as being strong, but the challenges differ. Women often feel the need to navigate their actions carefully to avoid misinterpretation or unwanted attention. This can lead to frustration and a feeling of being restricted in how we express ourselves.
Despite these challenges, I try not to let them dictate my actions. I want to express myself freely without worrying about others' perceptions. However, there are times when I feel sad and frustrated because I have to adjust my behavior to fit these societal expectations. So yes, being a woman is difficult in general, due to these societal pressures and the constant need to be cautious.
